Phase 3 Sentence Comprehension

This pack of sentences cover all the graphemes taught in Phase 3 including the trigraphs igh, ear, air and ure.
 
For each grapheme there are two sentences. Where possible tricky words from both Phase 2 and Phase 3 have been used. Each sentence is decodable.
 
Fold the sheet in half and ask the pupil to read the sentence. This could be part of the apply stage of your phonic lesson or as part of an adult focused task as well intervention. Then ask the pupil to draw a circle around the image that matches the sentence.
 
You may want the pupil to circle the focus sound they can see in the sentence as well.
